Start in the aorta. Go wherever the blood goes: take either branch at every fork, turn around, stop, look. Keep going and the scale keeps falling, until you are in a capillary, single file behind a red cell.
Android. In development.
Most anatomy you have seen is drawn. This one is measured. The model is 708 individually segmented structures from one real adult man, 1.72 m tall, so every organ, vessel and bone is the shape and the size it actually was.
No track. Every fork is two real tubes. Take either one, or turn around and fly back upstream. One finger looks, two fingers drive.
From a 25 mm aorta to a 7 µm capillary without a loading screen. The world rescales around you as you shrink.
A dash along the bottom, a minimap of the branches around you, and what is coming up next: distance to the fork and the calibre of each way out.
Biconcave discs, flowing faster in the middle of the vessel than at the wall. Where they would be too small to see, they are enlarged, and the screen says so.
Every fork in the tree follows Murray's law, the rule real vessels branch by, so the calibre you fly into is the calibre you would find.
| Where you are | Radius | What it is like |
|---|---|---|
| Aorta | 12.5 mm | A tunnel. Room to turn around. |
| Artery | ~2 mm | The forks come faster and you start choosing. |
| Arteriole | ~15 µm | The wall is close. The cells are crowding you. |
| Capillary | 3.5 µm | Single file, one red cell at a time. |
Coming, in order: the named arteries and veins, the way back to the heart so the loop never ends, "take me to the kidney" routing, and the organ beds (lung, kidney, liver, brain, gut). Below the capillary wall is TheCell3D.
Outside the vessels, the whole body is there to open up. Layer it, fade it, cut it on any plane, pull it apart system by system, and tap any structure for its name and what it does.
Skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, digestive, urinary, lymphatic, endocrine, reproductive and skin, each switchable on its own.
Tap a point on the body and get everything the line of sight passes through, in order, with its depth from the skin and its thickness in millimetres.
One real man, so one body. There is no female figure yet, because no open whole-body female segmentation exists, and a sculpted one would hand back made-up measurements.
AnyBody3D goes to closed testing on Google Play before it ships. Testers get the full app, free, and what they report goes into the build.
